Dr. Martin was born in Champaign, IL while his father was stationed there while in the Air Force but grew up in Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he graduated with a B.S. degree in premedical sciences/biology. Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from The UAB School of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his orthopedic surgical residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Martin completed an AO Trauma Fellowship at St. John’s Hospital in Jackson Hole, WY under the guidance of Dr. Ken Lambert and received further training during a joint reconstruction fellowship with Dr. Anthony Hedley at The Arizona Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, AZ.

Dr. Martin is board certified by and a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His practice is general orthopedics with a special interest in joint replacement, sports medicine, and trauma.

Dr. Martin and his wife Traci have three children, Tanner, McLane, and Andie.
